Replacing the Cabin Air Filter

Model: BMW Serie 5 E39 - Years 1995-2003

The vehicle in question has two cabin air filters, both located in the engine compartment, just behind the strut mounts. It is not necessary to completely disassemble the filter housing for a simple replacement, but since disassembly is extremely easy, it is recommended to proceed as follows to thoroughly clean the housing. Disconnect the air duct, remove the lip seal, and first unclip the metal bar that secures the cover, and finally the lower fastening clip of the housing to remove it. This way, you can wash the housing thoroughly and then insert the new filter.
