New BMW models feature a smart key with a mini touchscreen display that allows car owners to perform various operations with a touch. After many hours of use, the battery inside the key may completely discharge, necessitating its replacement.

Here’s how to do it. First, obtain a small flat-head screwdriver. Insert the head into the slot at the bottom of the cover and separate the two parts.

Now, simply replace the old battery with a compatible new one and close the cover.
