How to Replace the Battery in a BMW Keyless Remote

We will explain how to replace the battery in a keyless remote for a BMW vehicle. To perform this simple operation, use a flat-head screwdriver. Press the side button on the remote to remove the emergency metal key contained within. Using the flat-head screwdriver or the key itself, apply slight pressure by inserting the screwdriver into the hole of the remote. Open the remote into two parts and replace the battery. After completing this operation, close the remote and insert the emergency metal key back inside. It is very important to test the key's functionality before getting in the car; ensure that the vehicle can be unlocked and started. In some cases, it may be necessary to reprogram the key.
