Instructions for Removing the Car Radio

Model: BMW Serie 3 E91, E90, E92 - Years 2005-2013

To remove the original car radio, first remove the climate control knobs by prying them off sideways with a plastic tool or a small screwdriver, possibly wrapped at the tip with electrical tape. Then, unscrew the mounting screws of the car radio and pull it out of its slot by disconnecting the connectors attached to the back (the largest one has a bayonet lock).
Before disconnecting the connectors, it is advisable to check if you have the activation code (antitheft code) needed for the subsequent ignition (if you don't have it, you can always retrieve it at the dealership or on some specialized website).
