To remove the glove compartment of the BMW X5, first, pull out the rivets that secure the cover located directly beneath the compartment. The cover must then be removed after disconnecting the connector that powers the bulb. Next, open the compartment to loosen the screws that secure the internal pistons. Additional screws to loosen are located along the entire top of the compartment: once these screws are removed, the compartment can be taken out after disconnecting all connectors. The new compartment should then be inserted along with all previously removed parts.
