Removing the BMW 1 Series airbag

Model: BMW Serie 1 E82, E81, E87, MK 1 - Years 2004-2013
Part: Airbag

In this video tutorial and in the description below we can find the instructions to remove the airbag placed on the steering wheel of the car. First we need to access the cockpit, get a flat screwdriver and start removing the screws placed immediately behind the steering wheel. In this way we will have freed the central part of the steering wheel itself but before extracting it completely, with the same screwdriver we insert it inside the two holes already existing on the right and left side of the steering wheel to release the rear airbag fixing block from the internal. Once unlocked, it will be possible to extract the central unit of the steering wheel with airbag and disconnect the two connectors at the rear.
