This guide shows how to replace the battery in the remote for the BMW 1 Series F20. To replace the battery, the first step is to extract the physical key from the remote by pressing the release button. Using the key itself, pry open the rear cover of the device to access the battery compartment.

With a small flathead screwdriver, remove the old battery and fit a new CR2450 button battery. Refit the rear cover and the physical key, then check the proper functioning of the remote.
