How to open the hood of the BMW 3 Series?

To open the hood of the BMW 3 Series, go inside the cabin and pull the lever with the hood symbol located at the lower left of the steering column. Pulling this lever will slightly lift the hood, allowing you to insert your hands underneath; however, it will still be impossible to fully lift the hood. This is because you need to pull the lever twice, as specified on the lever itself: once the lever has been pulled a second time, you can lift the hood to access all the components inside the engine compartment.
