Replacing the Start Button

Model: BMW Serie 7 E68, E65, MK 4, E67, E66 - Years 2001-2008
Part: Push button

Replacing the engine start button (next to the key slot) requires removing all components in the center console since the button and key module come with the associated control unit. Once you remove the center trim, proceed to disassemble the components in the console to access the mounting screws for the start module; after removing the screws, disconnect the connector and extract the control unit by first sliding it back and then passing it through the center console.
