The starter motor is located on the gearbox (the starter motor pinion in fact drives the flywheel in the ignition phase), immediately under the exhaust gas manifold: for this reason it is protected by an aluminum heat shield ; then proceed with the disassembly of the pins that secure the starter motor flange to the gearbox; then remove the heat shield and disconnect the power cables to be able to completely remove the motor. If it is necessary to replace it, it is suggested to opt for a refurbished one rather than a new one.
