Removing the Sunroof Shade

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006

In cars equipped with a glass sunroof, there is a shade in the headliner that allows you to darken the sunroof if necessary. To remove this shade, open the sunroof fully while keeping the shade closed; this way, you can access the screws that secure the shade's covering to the brackets connected to the sliding track. Unscrew the mounting screws located at the four corners (where you can see some plates) and detach the springs on one side. At this point, you can remove the shade.
