Driver Airbag Disassembly Instructions
Model: BMW Serie 3
E46
- Years 1998-2006
The driver airbag, located at the center of the steering wheel, is secured by a spring system that locks two pins located just behind the airbag itself; to release it, you need to pry on the springs to move them away from the pins. Specifically, behind the spokes of the steering wheel, there are holes where a medium-sized flathead screwdriver must be inserted to hook the spring and press it toward the center of the steering wheel to move it away from the pin: while pressing on the spring, pull the airbag forward to facilitate its detachment from the spring (be careful with the connectors while pressing with the screwdriver).

How to Remove the Steering Wheel from a Citroen C3
How do you remove the steering wheel from a Citroen C3? Before removing the steering wheel, disconnect the battery terminals located in the engine bay. Follow these steps to proceed with the removal: remove the inspection caps at the back of the steering wheel (if present), then, using a socket or screwdriver, undo the screws securing the steering wheel cover (where the airbag is located). Once the airbag (driver's side) is released, disconnect the power connectors and remove it. Using a socket, undo the large central bolt and take the steering wheel off its mount. For reassembly: connect the power connectors, then press the steering wheel with your hands (until it fits into its mount) and subsequently tighten the large bolt. by ScegliAuto More videos
