To remove the external door handle, you must first remove the door trim panel. Then, unscrew the lock mounting screws since the handle is connected to the lock and must be removed together; detach the plastic cover around the handle, unscrew the lock retaining ring while removing the gasket; pull out the retaining clips connected to the handle mounting pins and also remove the pins; disconnect the connectors, release the safety latch and the opening cable from the internal handle to complete the removal.
