Instructions for Disassembling the Drive Shaft

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006

To disassemble the drive shaft, lift the vehicle on a lift and first remove the exhaust pipe. Once the muffler is removed, take off the heat shield to access the transmission area. Next, remove the fastening pins from the rear flange of the transmission, then the front flange, and finally the support bracket for the center bearing and the aluminum bracket. After disassembling the transmission, separate the two shafts to remove the old bearing and install the new one.
