To replace the battery in a BMW 5 Series remote, slide the key out from the top of the device to gain access to its housing. This will allow you to access the internal components of the remote. The battery can now be removed from its housing and replaced with a new one. After replacing the battery, close the remote again and insert the key back into the top of the device to ensure everything functions correctly.
