Replacing the Control Arm Bushing

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006

The failure of the bushings (silent block) of the suspension control arm is a common issue on this model: fortunately, repair kits are available that allow you to fix the problem easily and economically. Lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift, remove the front and rear plastic protective covers, unscrew the mounting bolts of the rear control arm support, and pull it out of its seat (it may help to lubricate with spray grease). Clean the support seat on the arm, apply grease, and insert the new support, securing it in place by tightening the corresponding mounting bolts.
