Next, carefully apply the chains, centering them on the tread. Attach the assembled spacer to the wheel nut. Don't worry if the chain doesn't immediately go under the tire; it will settle after a few feet of driving.

To remove the chains, simply stop the car, take off the wheel protector spacer, and slide off the chain. Move the car forward a few feet, retrieve the chains, and store them.
