As you can see in this tutorial, replacing the key fob battery for the BMW 5 Series is a very simple and quick task. To do this, you will need a small flathead screwdriver and a replacement CR2450 battery.

First, extract the emergency key by pressing the button on the back. Then, use the key itself or the screwdriver to pry in the newly exposed slot and unlock the rear cover.

Once opened, you can remove the old battery and insert the replacement, making sure to respect the polarity.
