Check Mass Airflow Sensor Operating Parameters

The mass airflow sensor provides the engine control unit with information regarding the volume of air drawn in based on the throttle position. The control unit must adjust the fuel volume injected to ensure proper power delivery. It is clear that incorrect information from this sensor will lead to inaccurate fuel injection values, negatively impacting performance and fuel economy. To check the proper functioning of the mass airflow sensor, you need to be somewhat familiar with using a multimeter, as you will measure resistance values and output voltage from the sensor based on the throttle position, powering the sensor with a 9-volt battery.
