Service Light Reset Instructions

Model: BMW Serie 5 E60, E61 - Years 2003-2010

If the central display on the instrument cluster shows a red car symbol raised on a lift, it means maintenance is required. Use the trip reset button to scroll through the service menu and check what maintenance is needed, and you can also perform the reset. When you turn on the ignition, press and hold the trip reset button to enter the service menu, then press to scroll through the options. When you reach the first red light, press the button again and hold it until the word 'reset' appears, then release and press again to reset.

First, disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Now, open the door in question and lift the chrome strip at the top. Then, remove all the screws indicated in the video. You can now lift the door panel by pulling it towards you. Disconnect the connectors at the back and remove the panel. Next, you will need to remove the components shown in the video.
