In this tutorial, you will see how to unlock the automatic transmission in a BMW 3 Series, a very simple operation to perform in case of emergency, such as when the battery is dead. Start by lifting the left side of the vehicle, taking all necessary safety precautions. Then, go underneath and remove the protective plastic panel. Next, locate the indicated bolt, which is located on the transmission case wall, and fully tighten it to compress the metal lever. The transmission will now be free to be placed in neutral.
