In this video, you can see where the battery is located in the BMW 5 Series and how to proceed if you need to replace it. As shown, it is not located in the typical engine compartment but is instead placed inside the trunk, in the lower area. To access it and subsequently replace it, start by opening the hatch, then remove the floor cover and take out the tool basket. At this point, disconnect the two terminals starting with the negative, unscrew the bolts of the mounting bracket, and extract the battery from its housing.
