Disassembly of Rear Headlight and Reverse Light

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006

For replacement, you need the new version of the headlight. For the replacement operation, you will need screwdrivers and a ratchet wrench. Open the trunk and remove the dome light by disconnecting it from the power cable. Remove the three screws securing the headlight located inside the trunk and take it out by disconnecting the wiring. Install the new headlight and reconnect the wiring. Use a screwdriver to remove the plastic clips of the tailgate cover just enough to access the lighting assembly. Remove the screws securing the light and pull it out of its housing. Position the new light and reconnect it.
