Replacing the Key Fob Battery for the BMW X3

Follow these step-by-step instructions to disassemble and replace the battery in the key fob for the BMW X3. First, take your key fob and remove the physical key from inside it. Then, use a flat tool to pry open the seam to split the key fob into two parts, accessing the battery compartment as shown in the video. At this point, remove the old battery and replace it with a new one of the correct type (in this case, a CR 2450). Insert it in the correct orientation and reassemble the key fob casing.
