How to Replace Engine Oil and Oil Filter

Model: BMW Serie 7 MK 3, E38 - Years 1994-2001
Part: Oil filter

Put the car on the lift. Open the hood and locate the engine oil reservoir. Remove the cap from the reservoir. Locate the oil filter housing and, using the appropriate wrench, unscrew the cover. Pull the old filter out of its slot. Now lift the car using the lift and find the drain plug to let the old oil flow out. Place a drain pan under the engine and unscrew the bolt to drain the oil. Once finished, screw the bolt back in and lower the car. Now replace the gasket on the filter housing and insert the new filter into its housing. Reattach the housing to its position on the engine. At this point, pour the new oil into the reservoir. The car that underwent this maintenance is a BMW 7 Series.
