In this video tutorial, you can see how to replace the shift knob in a BMW 3 Series E90 by following some simple steps that will allow you to work independently. First, purchase a new shift knob from an authorized auto parts dealer.

Next, get in the vehicle, turn off the car, and pull the handbrake. Proceed to remove the trim; once the trim is removed, pull firmly upward to remove the knob and boot.

Once removed, separate the knob from the boot and keep the boot; now, use a zip tie or seal to tighten the boot, then insert the new shift knob.
