How to check the engine levels of the BMW 1 Series.

Model: BMW Serie 1 E82, E81, E87, MK 1 - Years 2004-2013
Part: Checks and maintenance

It is good practice to periodically check the fluid levels of the BMW 1 Series engine: we open the hood of the engine compartment, locate the oil level dipstick, remove it and clean the end with absorbent paper, reinsert it all the way and remove it again to verify that the oil level is between the minimum and maximum marks, if it is not, we top up the missing liquid. We move on to the expansion tank of the cooling system, open the cap and check that the level is at the maximum, topping up if necessary. The brake fluid reservoir can be found under a panel near the firewall, in this case too we check the level, and if it is low, we also check the wear of the brake pads. Let's take advantage of the checks to top up the windshield washer fluid reservoir as well. Remember to perform the checks with the engine cold and the car on a flat surface.

How to Remove the CV Boot on Fiat Panda

Let’s see how to remove the boot from the joint on a Fiat Panda. After positioning your car on a column lift: raise it to a comfortable height to work on, loosen the wheel nuts (using a socket wrench or air drill) and remove the wheel. Begin unscrewing the brake disc bolts with a socket wrench. Remove the bolts located under the disc and completely detach the wheel hub. Pull the arm around the joint with your hands. Fit the new boot (after removing the old one) onto the constant velocity joint, then start reassembling all the parts in reverse order.
