In this tutorial, you will see how to replace the seat cable in a BMW 3 Series, a very simple and quick operation. You do not need to completely disassemble the seat; you can work directly from inside the cabin. First, remove the headrest, then unscrew the screws located on the underside of the seat and remove the entire cover. Next, locate the cable in question, disconnect both ends, and also remove the lower joint. If you have an original replacement, simply attach it and reassemble everything. If you have a generic cable, you will need to measure the correct length and weld the two fastening pins to the ends.
