Resetting the Service Light on BMW 3 Series

After changing the engine oil in the BMW 3 Series, you need to reset the service light that alerts you to the need for maintenance. To do this, sit in the driver's seat with the instrument cluster off. Press and hold the button located at the bottom right of the speedometer, turn on the ignition, and wait for the word "reset" to appear on the central display. At this point, release the button and press it again until the word starts to blink. After that, press it once more, and the updated maintenance interval will appear on the display. The next time you start the vehicle, you will see confirmation of the reset.
