How to disassemble and clean the EGR valve in a BMW?

In this tutorial we can see how to disassemble and clean the EGR valve in BMWs equipped with M47 and M57 engines, a very simple operation. First of all, make sure that the engine is sufficiently cold, then open the hood and remove both plastic covers. Next, locate the valve in question, disconnect the rubber manifold connected to it, and, using a 10mm socket wrench, unscrew the four fixing bolts. At this point, we can remove the valve from the housing, clean it using the appropriate products, and reassemble it following the reverse procedure.
