This tutorial demonstrates how to remove and clean the EGR valve in BMWs equipped with M47 and M57 engines, a very simple operation. First, ensure that the engine is sufficiently cool, then open the bonnet and remove both plastic covers.

Next, locate the valve in question, disconnect the rubber manifold attached to it, and using a 10mm socket, unscrew the four mounting bolts. At this point, you can remove the valve from its housing, clean it using appropriate products, and reinstall it by following the reverse procedure.
