To replace the transmission on a BMW X3, lift the vehicle using a jack or a lift to access the components underneath. Once the vehicle is elevated, loosen the bolts securing the transmission to its housing at the rear of the engine block.

Disconnect the appropriate connectors related to the sensors. The new transmission can now be inserted into its place, connecting and securing it properly.
