How to Reset the Service Light on a BMW X1 E84

This video shows how to reset the service light on a BMW X1 E84. However, it's important to consider a few general points before proceeding: if the battery is disconnected, the onboard clock will stop at the time the battery was disconnected; each service reset is counted internally to determine if extra service is needed; the reset function will only work if the part to be repaired is at (0% or less of its useful life).

Press the start button twice, press again to turn off the engine, then press once more to turn on the engine.

Press and hold the button at the base of the tachometer for about ten seconds: the service items will appear on the display in order of priority. Select the parts to be repaired by moving the toggle switch up or down.

Confirm by pressing the button on the lever, then press the reset button until the word "reset" appears on the display. Release the button and turn off the ignition.
