Chrysler Pt Cruiser - Video tutorial

Model: Chrysler Pt Cruiser MK 1 - Years 2000-2010
Part: Engine oil
Operation: How to unscrew damaged oil sump cap

If it happens that the drain plug of the oil pan has been damaged by the previous disassembly so as to no longer allow normal access and interlocking of the relative key, a solution must be found to be able to unscrew it; you can try it with a chisel but if it tends to tear then it is advisable to proceed as follows: suck the oil from the engine by inserting the appropriate cannula into the seat of the oil rod so that it can be sucked with a vacuum pump; once all the oil has been sucked, proceed with the disassembly of the oil pan, wash it thoroughly and weld a nut on the cap to be able to unscrew it and then proceed backwards for reassembly by applying a new cap.

Let's see in this short and simple guide the instructions that will allow us to open the bonnet of the Volkswagen Polo. First of all we open the front door, on the driver's side, and start pulling the opening lever of the engine hood, in order to open the lock; then let's move to the front of the vehicle and unhook the tab that we find on the central part, above the manufacturer's emblem, as shown in the video. At this point we block the bonnet with the lateral rod; then we accompany the bonnet down to close it again!
