How to disengage the electric parking brake on a Citroen and a Peugeot.

This video shows us how to release the electric parking brake of a Citroen or Peugeot for maintenance work. The normal procedure is to start the vehicle, press the brake pedal, and then press the handbrake button to release it. When we turn off the vehicle, the handbrake automatically engages again. So, if we need to put the vehicle on a ramp for maintenance and don't want to do it with the engine running, we still need to start the engine, select neutral, keep the handbrake engaged, turn off the engine, turn on the ignition, pull the lever first forward and then backward, press the brake pedal, deactivate the handbrake, and then turn off the ignition. It’s a somewhat complicated procedure and must be done quickly to succeed, but it will allow us to push the vehicle up the ramp by hand.
