What does replacing an engine entail?

When talking about replacing an engine, one might think of removing everything inside the hood, but in reality in most cases it is only about replacing the engine block, and all the accessories are only temporarily removed and then reassembled, such as the intake manifold, the gearbox, the clutch kit, the flywheel, all the supports and guides, the air conditioning compressor, alternator, bearings, exhaust manifold, catalytic converter, thermostat valve, oil filter exchanger and water pump. It is a good opportunity to check the condition and functionality of all these components. The engine, in turn, is composed of the cylinder head, the engine block with the cylinders, the oil pan and the timing belt or - as in this case - the chain.
