How to Replace the Clutch Cable on a Citroen Berlingo

The clutch cable of the Citroen Berlingo is self-adjusting, so it adjusts automatically with clutch wear. When purchasing a new cable, it comes with a safety device that must not be removed before installing the cable; otherwise, the cable will stretch and cannot be installed. You will need to lift the front of the car and place it on axle stands. Enter the cabin and disconnect the cable attachment from the clutch pedal. Follow the cable path to the gearbox; on the gearbox side (driver's side), you will find the cable connected to the clutch fork lever. Disconnect the end of the cable from this lever. Along the path, the cable is secured to the body with brackets that need to be detached. Before installing the new cable, ensure it is in the correct starting position and that the safety mechanism has not been accidentally removed. Insert the new cable following the reverse path of removal; ensure it passes correctly through all brackets, and after positioning the cable, you can remove the safety device. At this point, the self-adjusting mechanism will activate. Return to the cabin and connect the other end of the cable to the pedal.
