How to Change the Rear Shock Absorbers on the Citroen C1

On the Citroen C1, start at the rear: the video shows loosening the wheel bolts and then lifting the car and securing it on axle stands, so the rear suspension area is free. With the wheel removed, the shock absorber is visible near the spring, allowing access to its fixings. Begin removal from the lower fixing: work on the lower bolt of the shock absorber, unscrew it, and free the eye from its seat. To remove and refit the part without forcing, the video also shows a jack positioned under the rear axle, useful for maintaining the correct height while aligning the holes. Next, move to the upper part: the head of the shock absorber with the rubber and nut is shown, and proceed to unscrew and remove the old shock absorber. Immediately after, the new shock absorber is shown outside the box, ready for installation. Reassembly on the Citroen C1 follows the same order in reverse: position the new shock absorber, insert the upper part, and then realign the lower fixing using the jack until everything fits. Once the bolts are in place, tighten the fixings and refit the wheel, lowering the car to the ground at the end of the job.
