How to replace the timing belt on a Dodge Journey? Lift the car on a column lift (if necessary, remove the front wheel and the right wheel arch liner). Once these operations are completed: lift the bonnet, remove the engine soundproofing panel and the timing belt cover. Using a fixed spanner, loosen the tensioner pulley and slide the belt off its seat. After installing the new belt, use the fixed spanner to tension the tensioner pulley (tension until the belt has the correct tension). Finally, check the tensioner and the belt itself, and tighten everything with the socket spanner.
