When pressing the buttons on the Fiat 500 remote does not open or close the car doors, the cause may be a depleted battery. To replace it, release the metal key, and in its slot, you will find a plastic screw; using a small screwdriver, turn it to the open padlock symbol and leverage with the screwdriver to remove the battery housing.

Remove the old battery and insert a new CR2032, aligning the positive mark on the battery with the one indicated on the housing. Insert the assembly back into place and secure it by turning the plastic screw to the closed padlock symbol.
