Replacing Seat Upholstery

If you want to restore your vintage car and make it look as it did when it left the factory, and you are skilled at upholstery, here’s how to do it. For the restoration process, you need to obtain upholstery material identical to the original. Next, completely remove the seats and place them on a comfortable work table. Remove the old cover and start upholstering the seat with faux leather vinyl by sewing the classic piping made from a special plastic tube along the edge. Remove the cover from the backrest and, using new foam, synthetic gauze, and glue, reconstruct the internal padding. Prepare the new cover made from the same material as the seat and slide it onto the backrest, fitting it onto the previously prepared padded structure. Secure the new upholstery using the straps that were sewn onto the covers to make them perfectly smooth and wrinkle-free.
