Replacing the engine air filter is very important maintenance as a clean filter allows the right airflow into the engine, ensuring optimal performance and good fuel economy. Besides cleaning it periodically, it is advisable to replace it with every oil change. This is a straightforward DIY task as the air filter box (also known as the Air Box) is located just above the engine, and the securing screws are easily visible around the filter seat. Loosen the screws without completely removing them until you can lift the cover enough to extract the old filter, clean out any dirt, insert the new filter, and re-tighten the securing screws.
