To start a 2004 Fiat Ducato 2.8 JTD with a faulty battery at -2°C, start by trying to minimize energy consumption. Turn on the lights for a few seconds to discharge some of the electronics. Then, try turning the key without forcing it, allowing the fuel pump to activate. If it doesn't start right away, the trick is to "jump-start" it: connect another battery or an external starter, being careful to correctly respect the poles (+ and -). Once started, leave the engine running for 15-20 minutes to charge the battery, but avoid turning it off immediately. If the engine doesn't start, it's best to call for technical assistance to avoid damage.
