How to Replace the Rear Brakes on a Fiat 500

To replace the rear brakes on a Fiat 500, lift the car and remove the wheel. Using a 13 mm socket, unscrew the two sliding bolts of the caliper. Using a screwdriver or lever, move the caliper and suspend it with a hook to avoid straining the brake line. With a 12 mm socket, loosen the pins securing the caliper support and remove it. Extract the brake disc and clean the surface with a wire brush and degreaser. Apply silicone grease to the guides and pins, then fit the new disc (the kit and pads can be found on Amazon under code B0G7LNHRNT for £64.25 with free delivery). Install the new pads in the support, ensuring the wear indicator tab is positioned correctly. Refit the support and tighten the bolts to 42 Nm (or a quarter turn after manual tightening). Refit the caliper and tighten the sliding bolts to 25 Nm. Before refitting the wheel, check the bleed screw and top up the brake fluid if necessary. Tighten the wheel nuts to 63 Nm in a cross pattern. Perform a brake test before driving.
