To change the engine oil in a Fiat 500L, it is advisable to bring the engine to operating temperature, then turn it off and safely lift the vehicle. After removing the oil filler cap, place a container under the sump and unscrew the drain plug, allowing the used lubricant to completely drain out. Once draining is complete, reinstall the drain plug, preferably replacing the corresponding gasket, and proceed to replace the oil filter, lubricating the gasket of the new filter with a thin layer of new oil before installation. Next, pour the quantity of oil specified by the manufacturer into the engine. Finally, start the engine for a few moments, check for leaks, and check the oil level, topping up as necessary to reach the correct level.
