Instructions for Dismantling the Gearbox

Model: Fiat Punto MK 2, 188 - Years 1999-2011
Part: Clutch

The first operation is to lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift and drain the gearbox oil (the drain plug is located at the rear of the gearbox); then remove the left wheel, followed by the brake caliper and the ball joint of the suspension arm to free the hub and also remove the driveshaft: then loosen the fixing nut of the driveshaft at the hub and extract it from the gearbox. Next, proceed to dismantle the starter motor, the gear cables, and the clutch cable; then unscrew the fixing bolts of the gearbox to the engine block and the support that connects the gearbox to the vehicle chassis. At this point, you can remove the gearbox and access the clutch.
