Fiat 500 - Video tutorial
Model: Fiat 500
500 L
- Years 2012-2023 Start by opening the bonnet and removing the upper cover located in the upper part of the engine compartment just below the windshield wipers. Then proceed with the disassembly of one of the two front wheels, identify the connecting rod that connects the shock absorber to the stabilizer bar and the two bolts that secure the hub to the shock absorber. Unhook the brake oil pipe fixing clips and remove the two nuts fixing the connecting rod and the two hub fixing bolts, at this point the shock absorber will be released and free under the body. Go back to the engine compartment and locate the pin fixing the shock absorber to the body. With a hose gun remove the nut, at this point the shock absorber spring unit can be extracted. Take at least two tensioners to be positioned between the coils of the spring and tighten them, with the gun unscrew the upper pin of the shock absorber and extract the upper support. At that point, lift the tensioned spring with the tensioners and place it on the ground. Take the new shock absorber and place the spring on top, reposition the upper support after having cleaned and lubricated the seat and refit the upper locking pin. Proceed with loosening the tensioners and freeing the spring, reposition the shock absorber after having lubricated the seat both on the body and on the shock absorber. Position the upper plate and insert the shock absorber spring assembly in its seat and screw the upper pin. Then proceed to reassemble the hub fixing bolts and the connecting rod backwards. Finally, refit the brake oil pipe with its clip and refit the wheel.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHandbrake adjustment on Ford EcosportFirst remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base. by ScegliAuto More videos
