Replacing the timing belt on a car is a delicate task that is recommended to be performed by experienced personnel. Below are the general operations to carry out. Lift the vehicle and open the bonnet, remove the front right wheel and take off the lower panel. First, remove the V-belt. From above the engine bay, remove the coolant reservoir and then unscrew the fixing screws of the cover above the timing belt. Unscrew the fixing bolts of the right engine mount. Position the locking pins on the crankshaft and camshaft pulleys to ensure the engine timing. Then, loosen the tensioner and remove it.
