When and how to replace the timing chain of the Fiat 500 1.3 Multijet

The timing chain of the Fiat 500 1.3 Multijet 95hp in the video has 180,000 miles, and the chain was starting to become noisy. To avoid it breaking and causing significant engine damage, it needs to be replaced. To replace the timing chain, remove the oil sump, the water pump (which will be replaced as it has been removed and is due at 180,000 miles), remove the covers that protect the timing chain, change the chain, and install an original timing kit, as only original parts should be used on these vehicles. This ensures no issues and a lifespan equal to the removed one. Symptoms of a timing chain needing replacement: if in the morning you start the vehicle and hear strange noises from the passenger side of the engine, like dragging or knocking, in 99% of cases, it is the timing chain that needs replacing.
