Steering Column Disassembly Instructions

Model: Fiat Punto MK 1, 176 - Years 1993-1999

Before starting the disassembly, disconnect the battery to avoid triggering any warning lights; first, remove the airbag by unscrewing the fastening bolts located behind the spokes of the steering wheel (5mm hex key) and then the steering wheel itself (24mm socket); then unscrew the fastening screws of the protective covers of the indicator controls (3mm hex key); disconnect the connectors linked to the indicator and ignition switch; extract the indicator by loosening the fastening clip bolt (5mm hex key) and pulling it outwards; then unscrew the fastening bolt of the universal joint to the steering box and the nuts fastening the steering column to the body.
