In this video, we will see how to open the hood of a Fiat Punto 188 with a broken release cable. There is a simple method that allows us not to break anything. In fact, if we remove the grille located under the bumper—which is only held in place by pressure, with no screws or bolts—we can access the internal part where, using a 13mm wrench, we can remove the two nuts that secure the lock. In the picture, we can see the position of the lock behind the FIAT logo. The lock mechanism simply needs to be pulled towards us, as it is screwed in. After unlocking it, it is possible to open the hood.
